During a recent interview with Woman's Day, Graham Norton, the popular Irish television presenter, highlighted his deep appreciation for Nicole Kidman, who has appeared on his show multiple times. Norton emphasized that Kidman, despite her long-standing fame, consistently makes an effort to connect with the audience and engage with other guests. He noted that her seventh appearance was just as captivating as her first, stating, "She's not aloof. She could just sit there and go, 'I'm Nicole Kidman, what more do you want?' But she doesn't. She tries, she listens, and she's genuinely interested in other guests' stories."

While discussing his experience with various celebrities, Norton chose to refrain from mentioning any negative encounters. Instead, he shared a clever strategy for managing guests who may not be the most engaging. He explained, "I'm lucky I've always got a couch of people, so if someone is a bit boring, I can quickly throw a question to one of the more interesting guests when they pause for breath," which allows the conversation to flow more smoothly.

Norton’s kind remarks come amid a challenging period for Kidman, who recently experienced the loss of her mother, Janelle Kidman, in September. Just after arriving in Venice for the Film Festival, she learned of her mother’s passing and promptly returned to Sydney. During the festival, director Halina Rejn issued a heartfelt statement on Kidman’s behalf while accepting the Best Actress award.

Kidman's Heartfelt Message to Family

In her statement, Kidman expressed her shock at the news of her mother’s death, stating, "I am in shock and I have to go to my family. But this award is for her. She shaped me, she guided me and she made me. I'm beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina." She poignantly reflected on the intersection of personal loss and professional achievement, sharing, "The collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken."

Public Gratitude from Kidman and Her Sister

Following their loss, Kidman and her sister, Antonia, shared a joint statement on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support they received. Kidman stated, "My sister and I along with our family want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week," acknowledging the heartfelt messages they received from admirers of their mother. They requested privacy during this difficult time as they cared for one another. Kidman later attended the funeral in October alongside her husband, Keith Urban, and their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
