'At the honeymoon, he brought it up. He said, "If I'm married, um, you know, does that bother you?" It was a mess from the start,' they said.

'Tony was upfront with production about his situation; he told them everything even before the show started. But he still hoped the show would help him move on.'Morena was understandably devastated. 'They just never really could get past it. She would always tell him to go chase his wife. The whole cast was gobsmacked when they found out he was still married,' another source added.'Tony had this impression that Morena might actually help him rekindle things with his ex. He even asked the experts for advice on it. They were speechless.'

Despite being separated for three years, Tony had not taken the final legal steps to end his marriage.Friends close to him suggested that the unfinished business was a looming shadow.'He thought being on the show would help him move on. But when they started asking questions, it brought everything back up,' the insider said.

'Tony was saying things like, "Maybe I should get back with my wife," almost as if he was looking for an excuse to end things with Morena.'The couple's troubles quickly became a focal point during the show's production, with Tony reportedly feeling pressured.'From the start, he was under the impression that if he came clean about his marriage, it would be fine,' said a close friend.'But he couldn't handle it from the beginning. It got so bad that at one point he wanted to tap out.'Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Tony, Morena and Channel Nine for comment.
